About Me
I've always been artistic. Playing music, drawing, painting with watercolours, and design are all passions of mine. I also love science, and graduated from the University of Guelph with a B Sc in Food Science. I entered this industry, but after a few years I could no longer ignore the call of the artist in me.
I worked in the graphic design business for a few years, learning all I could, and began creating my own original designs for greeting cards. I've continued creating greeting cards, and have branched out and now incorporate other media, such as copper, in my cards.
I began crafting my own sterling silver jewellery in 2004, when I took a night course in silversmithing; and knew right then that I had found my medium! I conceive and draw the original art, then use my computer to layout the patterns. This gives consistent design and helps conserve the raw materials I use to create my jewellery.
I use my background in graphic design to help personally develop my own logos, business cards and professional packaging, and my background in science to continually enhance my efficiency and technique.
I hope you'll like wearing the clean, contemporary and easy to wear style of my affordable, unique jewellery as much as I enjoy creating it! You may also find some of my jewellery at fine stores like Styll in Elora, Ontario (www.styll.com), and Cobblestone Gallery in Waterloo, Ontario, as well as the Framing & Art Centre, Waterloo, Ontario.
